Our Mission: Rivers of Hope strives to positively impact the
dynamics of domestic violence, and to empower victims to move beyond survival
through legal and general advocacy, education and interagency collaboration.
|
|
Rivers of Hope has served communities in Sherburne and Wright as well as portions of adjoining counties since 1989. Our focus is domestic violence, and our services are provided at no cost to individuals, schools and communities. Emotional Violence is using words to humiliate or intimidate a person.. Physical Violence is hurting a person's body or the things a person cares about. Sexual violence is forced or coerced sexual touching. Any sexual contact between an adult and a child is sexual violence. |
The eighth
annual Rivers of Hope Fall Ball Hopes and Dreams benefit was held Saturday,
October 9, 2004 at Silver Springs Golf Club in Monticello. Comedian and
auctioneer Dean Johnson hosted the event which included dinner, silent and
live auctions, top hat and champagne raffles, the delightful comedy of
Minnesota's own Jeff Gerbino, and dancing to the timeless jazz of the Jeff
Goldstein Band.
The Catherine Young Richardson
Vision Award is presented by Rivers of Hope to individuals, organizations,
businesses or agencies who have promoted and/or contributed to domestic
violence prevention or intervention efforts in our communities. Nominations
are taken from the community at large and winners are announced at the Fall
Ball.
