Rivers of Hope has served communities in Sherburne and Wright as well as portions of adjoining counties since 1989.  Our focus is domestic violence, and our services are provided at no cost to individuals, schools and communities. 

Emotional Violence is using words to humiliate or intimidate a person..

Physical Violence is hurting a person's body or the things a person cares about.

Sexual violence is forced or coerced sexual touching.

Any sexual contact between an adult and a child is sexual violence.

The 9th annual Rivers of Hope Fall Ball Hopes and Dreams benefit was held Saturday, October 8th, 2005 at Silver Springs Golf Club in Monticello. 

The generous support of community partners like you have helped our non-profit agency promote a coordinated community response to family violence in Sherburne and Wright Counties and the surrounding communities, and to provide the following prevention and intervention efforts to break the generational cycle of family violence: 

  1.  services were provided to 1756 individuals -- an increase of 269 from the previous year

  2.  youth advocates provided services in 15 local schools, including 1 elementary school -- an increase of 6 schools from 2004-05

  3.  coordinated and hosted our first annual community-wide law enforcement training on domestic violence

  4. developed and established 2 boys' groups in the school setting

  5. facilitated 3 youth groups during the 2005 summer session -- this was increased to 6 youth groups being facilitated this summer

  6. increased our involvement with community partners

  7. continued to provide 2 weekly adult support groups
